about us

The name DiGen Art is an abbreviation for “Digitally Generated Art” representing our gallery’s focus. It is also a nod to crypto culture, where traders playfully refer to themselves as “DeGens,” short for “degenerates”, for their risk-taking and non-conformist spirit.

Our mission is straightforward — we aim to play a key role in fostering the digital art movement in MENA by researching its history, educating the public, and uplifting emerging artists.

At DiGen, we’re fascinated by the intersection of art and technology, exploring a broad spectrum of art forms like digital illustration/animation, creative coding, AI art, VR/AR, and many more exciting applications of upcoming technologies.

The Middle East and North Africa boast a rich cultural history, including a pioneering role in algorithmic art practices. We’re here to celebrate this heritage and ensure our region is an integral part of the ongoing digital revolution.

Our flagship space in Beirut is more than just an art gallery — it’s a creative space where we experiment with new technologies, house a growing library of relevant books, and host engaging events like hackathons, lectures, and workshops.

As we increasingly introduce ourselves to the world online, digital art has become a window to our digital identities, reflecting our interests, values, and beliefs through the items we collect. We believe this transformation will reshape the art world in the coming years, and we’re determined to be at the forefront of this revolution.
